Originally established as an internal medicine practice, Salem Medicine has a focus on primary care and has excelled for more than 30 years in providing evaluations, care and treatment to patients with a wide range of physiological, and psychosomatic problems.
Built on three acres of land, our medical office was built to not only provide a peaceful atmosphere where patients can be seen in-office but where patients can also receive the comfort and support they need and deserve.
In addition to in-person visits, we also offer telehealth encounters so that providers can consult with patients if they are unable to come into the office.
Regardless of whether or not you or your loved one are situated in the hospital, at a nursing home, at a short-term rehabilitation facility or a long-term rehabilitation facility, our providers will come out to you to make sure you are receiving the care that you need.
Beyond primary care, we also offer patients the opportunity to receive a wide variety of vaccinations, and other miscellaneous injections based upon the patients' needs.
We understand that, at times, all you may need is a refill on your medication. As such, our office also manages patients' prescription medications and prescribes medications based upon our providers' clinical insight as well as the patient's clinical diagnosis and prognosis.
Because most patients require lab work to be done several times per year, Salem Medicine has always provided lab services to patients within the very same facility - adjacent to our medical office. Currently, Salem Medicine is contracting with Excel Labs and they can be contacted at regular business hours if a patient needs to schedule for lab work.
Often times, patients are unable to get to the office on their own despite needing or wanting to. As such, we've developed relationships with a number of different medical and non-medical transportation companies so that patients who qualify for transportation can be able to get to and from our facility according to patients' scheduling needs.
Of course, if a patient is in need of further care beyond the care that we already provide, our providers refer patients based upon a wider and robust network of specialty doctors, providers and therapists. Moreover, if a prior-authorization is required for a particular medication, the relevant forms are usually filled out online. In addition, if a specific form needs to be filled out based upon the patient's needs and request, the provider may fill the form out depending up the area of concern.
Assuming a patient would like to be seen either in the office of via telehealth, an appointment must be made by contacting our office during regular business hours. Patients typically receive appointment reminders within 24 hours of their appointment and are allowed to reschedule or cancel appointments if need be. In addition, patients can also subscribe to text messaging reminders upon request.
When applicable, the provider has authority to approve or disapprove of powers of attorney and provide insight into why a patient's family members or other decision makers should or should not be charge with this authority. Moreover, providers will also fill out certificates of death, where necessary, upon a patient's death.
All in all, Salem Medicine seeks to approach patient care in an Integral manner - centering the individual patients and their holistic needs at the center of the dynamic. Ultimately, our intent is to take into consideration the patient's physiological, psychological, and social condition in order to deliver care that is wholesome and personalized.
